The Ramaz School is seeking a Lower School Art Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year for Pre-K through Fourth Grade.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Plan and implement motivating lessons in art that reflect knowledge of curriculum and students’ interests and abilities.
- Create a learning environment that is creative, challenging, and age appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Lower School Art teacher to help ensure alignment in the K-4 curricular experience, updating curriculum and materials as needed.
- Collaborate and innovate with colleagues, across disciplines, to further develop curriculum and design interdisciplinary projects/units of study.
- Possess the ability to incorporate social-emotional learning and 21st century skills in the classroom, including a desire to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom.
- Implement classroom procedures and behavioral management routines
- Assess students' performance, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional, and prepare student progress reports that include narrative descriptions of students' achievements, growth, passions, and areas in need of support.
- Engage respectfully with families and demonstrate sensitivity to cultures, values, and beliefs.
- Participate in the school community, including faculty meetings and learning events.
The Lower School Art Teacher should be a forward-thinking and passionate educator, with a bachelor’s degree or higher in art or an education-related field, who understands the mission of the Ramaz School.
