Assistant Professor - Painting
The Department of Visual Arts seeks to hire an artist well-versed in contemporary issues of painting to join the faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Candidates must demonstrate a strong exhibition record and the ability to teach both basic and advanced painting.  Courses taught may include an introductory class with a focus on technique, to more advanced conceptually- and philosophically-inclined topics.  The successful candidate will work with a range of undergraduate and graduate students, from the completely inexperienced in our core courses, to advising advanced students working across media. We are seeking an artist whose research and artistic practice engages with one or more of the following areas: queer aesthetics, body politics, questions of identity and social
