Part-Time Lecturer in History/Sociology/Politics
New York University (NYU) Berlin is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course entitled Comparative Modern Societies. The course corresponds to a sociology class taught at NYU New York that looks at the theory and methodology of the study of modern societies. The NYU Berlin version examines Germany's history of the 20th century, exploring various approaches to organizing modern society, and the ways in which relationships between the state and the individual, between politics, economy, and society developed. Principle narratives and events are situated in a European and global context, placing the concept of German modernity in a comparative framework. The course is taught in English, meets once per week for three hours, and runs approximately from January 26 to May 16, 2022.
