Keio Academy of New York (https://www.keio.edu), an international boarding school in Purchase, NY, is the only overseas institution affiliated with Keio University (https://www.keio.ac.jp/en) in Japan. The Academy seeks a part-time Social Studies faculty member to teach (grades 9th and 12th) beginning in the 2025 school year.
LOCATION:

REQUIREMENT:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Studies or a related field, along with extensive knowledge of Geography and Political thought, is required.
A Master's degree is preferable.
Classroom teaching experience preferred.
State teaching certification is a plus. Knowledge of Social Studies curriculum. Ability to independently develop lesson plans and assessments.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly from *$59~ (*Depends On Experience)
Sick leave 40 hours per year
Winter, spring, summer break and holiday

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job description provides a general summary of the responsibilities and assignments of the faculty. It is not intended to be wholly definitive in this respect. As a part-time faculty at the boarding school, your responsibilities and assignments include, but are not limited to, the following:
Teaching
Teach 9th-grade Geography (2 sections, 8 classes) and 12th-grade Political Thought (1 section, 4 classes) for a total of 12 regular classes per week, in accordance with the curriculum and the School's needs.
Other duties as assigned by the School
The faculty will be expected to undertake any other related tasks as the School may reasonably request.
