At The Walker School, we believe history is more than content, it is a lens for understanding the world and shaping the future. We are seeking an engaging, creative, and student-centered Upper School History Teacher who can spark curiosity, elevate discourse, and challenge students to think critically about the past and present.
This role is ideal for an educator with AP-level experience who is excited to teach AP World History and AP U.S. Government while also bringing versatility to teach a range of history and social studies courses.
What You’ll Do • Teach a dynamic mix of upper school history courses, including AP World History and AP U.S. Government • Design student-centered, discussion-driven classrooms that prioritize inquiry, analysis, and real-world connections • Foster a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, empathy, and high expectations • Collaborate with colleagues to create meaningful, interdisciplinary learning experiences • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, supporting both academic and personal growth • Engage fully in school life through coaching, sponsoring student organizations, or other extracurricular involvement
