Athletic Trainer (Per Diem) Hobart William Smith Colleges
Location: Geneva, NY Open Date: Dec 19, 2022
Description Provide athletic training services to collegiate athletes including the evaluation, diagnosis, and acute management for Hobart & William student-athletes and all athletes participating in intercollegiate competitions. This position is supervised by the Coordinator of Sports Medicine and works under the direction of the Medical Director as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures: Physician Standing Orders.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide athletic training services as directed by the Coordinator of Sports Medicine.
Evaluate and provide initial management for injuries that occur under their supervision.
Communicate with team coaches regarding return to play decisions as necessary.
Communication of injuries that require follow-up care either by an athletic trainer or physician.
Activation of the emergency action plan for the event venue as required.
Demonstrate knowledge for the Colleges' educational philosophy and mission.
Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances.
Performs other related duties as required.
Perform the requirements as a Campus Security Authority pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. 1092 (f) (Clery Act).
Other Information:
This is a temporary, variable hour, non-benefits eligible position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Hourly rate: $40/hr
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
Licensed to practice Athletic Training in the State of New York.
Current CPR/AED certification.
The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
