Who are we

Central South University is a key university under the “Project 985,” one of the first batch of universities under the “Project 211,” and a leading institution in the first batch of the “2011 Plan.” In 2017, the university was selected as a World-Class University (Category A), and in 2022, it was included in the list of the second round of “Double First-Class” construction universities. The Business School is one of the 32 schools at Central South University.  

The School is originated from the Management Engineering Department of the Central South College of Mining and Metallurgy established in 1982. After several rounds of colleges and departments merging, it was renamed as Business School of Central South University in 2002. Throughout its four decades of history, the School has made significant development in terms of disciplinary construction, scientific research, talent cultivation and social service by adhering to the value of “Knowledge Serves the Society, Fortune Favors the Diligent”. Its discipline of Management Science and Engineering was selected as first-level national key discipline and disciplines of Economics & Business was ranked top 1% on 2022 ESI ranking list. With three first-level disciplines of “Management Science and Engineering”, “Business Administration” and “Applied Economics”, the School possesses post-doctoral research stations in “Management Science and Engineering” and “Business Administration”, and doctoral programs in each of the three disciplines and professional master’s programs of EMBA, MBA, MPAcc and MF. The School was also selected as national first-class major construction site for five undergraduate majors: “Information Management and Information System”, “Business Administration”, “Accounting”, “Finance” and “Economics and Trade”. Benchmarking against the world's top business schools, the School has obtained AACSB International Accreditation and AMBA International Accreditation.

The School has over 150 full-time faculty, including 48 professors, 57 associate professors and 41 doctoral supervisors. Among them, there are 2 members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 young talents at national level, 1 National candidate of the National Hundred and Thousand  and Ten-Thousand Talent Project, 1 Innovation Team of National Talent Plan. The School employs nearly 30 overseas scholars as honorary professors or part-time professors, and nearly 100 part-time tutors from famous domestic enterprises for MBA.

Driven by the mission of by integrating scientific essence and creating new business knowledge, the School are devoted to cultivating business elites with great virtue and innovative spirit. The School is focusing on the challenges of the new era, to do "significant research" and provide "future oriented business education" to serve local and national strategies. In 2020, under the leadership of Academician Chen Xiaohong, the academic leader of the School, the Basic Science Center Project “Theory and Application of Resource and Environment Management in the Digital Economy Era” funded by Natural Science Foundation of China was launched at the University, becoming the first national basic science center project in central China. The School has 6 provincial research centers and 18 discipline oriented research center teams. In the past five years, the School carries out scientific research in response to the major national key needs, and it has undertaken a total of 87 national-level research projects, including 61 National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) projects (with 9 major/key projects), 15 National Social Science Foundation (NSSF) projects (with 4 major/key projects), as well as multiple projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s National Key Research and Development Plan. The total research funding brought into the university has reached $20,663,156, and the School has received 20 major national and provincial-level awards, contributing the wisdom of the Business School to economic and social development.

With an enrollment of more than 4000 students, the School catches up with the needs of the times and aims at the frontiers of practice, has created a compound business talent training model featuring "Humanities and Science Integration, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Digital Intelligence Cultivation, Multi-practical Paths”. Since its establishment, the School has trained more than 30,000 senior management talents and around 600 alumni enterprises are founded. (Statistics as of September 2024)

Who are we looking for

(1) For Professor and Associate Professor Positions

Candidates should have obtained a Ph. D. degree from an internationally renowned university, have an established research record with publications from high-level journals and an excellent teaching record.

(2) For Postdoctoral Research Fellowships and Lectureships

Applicants should hold a Ph. D. or are expected to receive one before July 2026.

Job Responsibilities:

(1) Professor, Associate Professor

–To teach in English;

–To apply for and carry out national level research projects;

–To publish papers in high quality international journals as the first or corresponding author affiliated to Business School of Central South University;

–To engage actively in services to the school;

–To supervise students on their internships, research and thesis;

–To complete other related school tasks.

(2) Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, Lectureships

–No need to offer any lectures;

–To apply for and carry out national level research projects;

–To publish papers in international journals as the first or corresponding author affiliated to Business School of Central South University;

–To engage actively in services to the school;

–To complete other related school tasks.


What do we offer

Salary Range:

RMB 300,000 – 1,000,000

Compensation package includes annual salary, research funds, housing allowances, and standard fringe benefits.

In accordance with the principle of attracting and cultivating first-class talents, the compensation includes a combination of school and university allowances. In the school, it has formulated the "Incentive Compensation Plan for the New Overseas Talent ", which could provide competitive remuneration for the talents: annual salary of 300,000 -1,000,000 (including wages, research start-up funding, housing subsidies, etc.). In the meanwhile, the school has developed differentiated talent development plans, such as "Excellent Youth Scholars Cultivation Plan" for excellent overseas doctoral students, so that all kinds of talents can get better resource support and development environment.
