Job Description
The School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) at Wentworth Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time position in Architecture at the rank of Lecturer to begin in Fall 2026.
About the Position:
The successful candidate will contribute to a forward-looking design curriculum and play an essential role in delivering a high-quality educational experience for our students. Responsibilities include teaching lecture courses, seminars, and design studios across the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Coursework may include foundation-level design studios, architectural representation and media, history and theory, and design research and methods, as well as upper-level concentration studios, seminars, and lectures in areas such as historic preservation, emerging technologies, design/build, landscape architecture, community-engaged design, and interdisciplinary design practices.
The standard teaching load for Lecturers is the equivalent of eight (8) 4-credit courses per academic year, typically comprising one 6-credit studio and two 4-credit seminar or lecture courses per semester. Lecturers are not required to engage in research, scholarship, or service activities. Senior Lecturers are expected to perform service activities and carry a reduced teaching load equivalent to seven (7) 4-credit courses per academic year.
The new faculty member will also play an essential role in launching the graduate program in design and developing new graduate certificates, thereby contributing to the future of design education at Wentworth.

About the Architecture Program:
Wentworth’s Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S. Arch) program offers a rigorous studio-centered curriculum emphasizing design, technology, and community engagement. The Architecture programs and faculty are deeply rooted in the Boston community and have a long history of partnering with community, government, and institutional organizations. Two required cooperative education experiences bridge academic and professional practice.
The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is a NAAB-accredited, STEM-designated program that prepares students to be leaders in a rapidly evolving profession. Through Global Research Studios and a structured thesis sequence, students engage pressing challenges in the built environment through an international lens.
