Job Title: Upper School Science Teacher

Job Summary
This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an independent K-12 school environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Teachers within grade and/or subject levels work as a team under the supervision of the Division Head and are full-time exempt employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The teacher will:
actively support the mission of The Fletcher School in the execution of his/her role and responsibilities.
teach up to six course sections or the equivalent in Science (i.e., Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics).
plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that are structured, multisensory, and targeted to individual learning styles in order to facilitate active learning and assist students in achieving their
ensure that curriculum, lesson plans, and evaluations are in accordance with North Carolina state standards and established school procedures and
collaborate with grade-level team to achieve optimum outcome for each
instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and

Qualifications
BA/BS degree in education or a related field (Sciences) from an accredited institution
Three to five years of experience teaching science using inquiry-based methodology
Knowledge and expertise in set up, organization, and implementation of laboratory activities is essential
Training or experience in Special Education Have attended or willingness to attend Orton-Gillingham Associate level course or above
Have or willingness to obtain Apple Teacher certification
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
Experience with Google suite (Classroom, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) is desirable
