About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic educator and program leader to design and facilitate student experiences that empower them to build leadership skills for social impact, justice, and civic engagement. Working with students in grades 6–12, this role creates responsive, real-world programming that centers student voice and creates opportunities for students to understand and act on issues shaping their communities. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful facilitator and collaborator who is energized by working with young people and helping them turn ideas into informed and purposeful action.

Draw on local and global events and student experiences to inform relevant, responsive programming for grades 6–12
Create and facilitate new student-centered learning experiences that are engaging, inclusive, and thought-provoking
Analyze program data and incorporate feedback to drive continuous improvement and ensure programming remains relevant, impactful, and aligned with school values
Student Leadership & Engagement
Mentor and coach students throughout their growth as social impact leaders – including guiding them towards civic engagement opportunities, in-house or external conferences and programs, and their own social-impact projects
Build strong relationships with students and create spaces where they feel seen, heard, and empowered to develop as leaders for social impact
Prepare students to engage in meaningful, real-world learning experiences that may involve traveling off campus or welcoming a guest speaker into their classroom
Collaboration
Partner with the Director of the Hiatt Center to leverage community relationships that enhance programming
Collaborate with internal departments to support effective communication, marketing, and delivery of programs
Work across divisions to ensure cohesive, developmentally appropriate student experiences
Professional Responsibilities
Model strong organization and preparation to meet responsibilities reliably and consistently
Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment
Additional Responsibilities
Advise or co-advise a group of 6–8 students
Coach Student-Directed Projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
At least 3 years of experience designing and facilitating student programming
Experience in education, youth development, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to manage a project from ideation to implementation
Experience amplifying student leadership development, voice, and agency
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices, and commitment to ongoing growth in this area
Demonstrated ability to integrate social-emotional skill development in leadership programming
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
Willingness to partner with faculty to design and support curriculum
Demonstrated understanding of independent schools and their unique culture
Experience developing programming that aligns with and furthers the mission of the school
Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
Sense of humor and joy in working with young people
