| About the Position: | The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC; https://chemistry.umbc.edu/) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in introductory chemistry. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include oversight of the Chemistry Discovery Center and instruction of introductory chemistry lab and lecture courses. This position offers the potential for pedagogical innovation in a collaborative team of experienced, pedagogy-driven faculty. Additional associated responsibilities include instruction, oversight of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, student assessment, and service on one or more departmental committees based on the candidate’s expertise and/or interest and departmental needs. We seek a candidate with a strong background in chemistry/biochemistry instruction and innovative teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Additionally, a strong candidate will exhibit a demonstrated commitment to UMBC’s values of inclusive excellence. A successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of an M.S. degree required. Salary Range: $68,000 - $72,000 commensurate with experience. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. | ||
