The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking an Executive Dean of Academic Development and Innovation in our Learning and Academic Affairs division. The Executive Dean is responsible for the development, oversight and provision of a broad range of academic support services including educational technologies, registrars, special projects, adjunct support, college assessment and academic systems. They lead growth and implement innovative strategies and practices to enhance learning and the delivery of instruction. The Executive Dean provides strategic vision and operational leadership for academic programs as assigned. They provide inclusive and collegial leadership supporting innovation and change to advance the goals of the College's Strategic Framework.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Promotes an environment that supports the College's mission, vision, and values, and fosters adiverse and inclusive atmosphere.
Collaborates with administrators, faculty, and staff in the development of policies, procedures, and other initiatives to advance academic support systems.
Directs academic support services, including Educational Technologies, Special Projects, the Registrar's Office, Adjunct Support, Assessment, Accelerated Pathways, and Academic Systems; and oversees staffing and performance management.
Ensures the academic and pedagogical quality of all programs.
Supports completion of institutional assessment initiatives, including data analysis and theapplication of results to enhance teaching and learning, in coordination with Assessment Leaders.
Develops policies and procedures to ensure academic quality, operational effectiveness, alignment of programming with institutional goals, and compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
Ensures that academic programs and services comply with collective bargaining agreements and identifies proposals for negotiation with collective bargaining units.
Develops and administers the academic budget while maintaining fiscal accountability.
Oversee the formal mediation process for faculty/student issues, grievances, and appeals, asnecessary.
Collaborates with the Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs, Assistant Vice Presidents, and other College stakeholders to plan, implement, and evaluate special projects andinitiatives that advance institutional goals;
In conjunction with the Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs, establishes andmaintains professional and intergovernmental relationships to stay informed of community educational needs.
Consults with the Vice President regarding staffing needs and hiring for academic departments; assists in the design of recruitment efforts to attract qualified and diverse faculty and staff.
Works with Assistant Vice Presidents to analyze institutional data for improving teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs, including committee assignments and facilitating the resolution of institutional issues and concerns.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Master's degree in related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience involving leadership, project management, strategic planning, operational oversight, organizational development, academic support services, public administration, or institutional improvement initiatives
Proven success in fostering collaborative and inclusive environments and building partnerships
Proficiency with office software technology
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Project management experience
Teaching experience
Experience with student information systems and learning technologies
Experience managing budgets
